Our History

Transco's history began in 1982 under the name Travelways. A few years later, Laidlaw made its first acquisitions outside Ontario, buying Travelways in Lasalle, Pointe Claire, Montreal North and Châteauguay. At that time, 500 school routes were served.

A few highlights from our history:

1982 - Birth of the company

1988 - Incorporation of Transco

2005/2007 - Acquisition of part of the assets of Auger Métropolitain

2012 - Acquisition of the assets of Transport St Léonard

2013 - Acquisition of the assets of Autobus Terremont

2019 - Acquisition of our first electric buses

2021 - Acquisition of the assets of Sabem SEC

2022 - First expansion of our school bus operations in Quebec City with the acquisition of the assets of Intercar, and start of our charter bus and intercity bus operations in Quebec City. First expansion of our school operations in Nova Scotia with the award of the contract with the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial

2023 - Acquisition of Autobus Laval, Autobus Dufresne and La Prairie. Start of our charter bus activities in Montreal and urban transport
